It works!
I use two of these logs through out the burning season. It does loosen up the soot build up making it easier the clean the chimney, which I do once a year with a stiff chimmney brush.

Best deal
Ignite Fire Starter Packets
This was the best price I could find for these logs. We bought a house and didn't use the chimney for two years.... bought these and burned one the other day, seems to have done the trick. No complaints.

The Creosote Sweeping Log works very well. They light readily and burn well, treating the existing creosote on the inside of the stove and chimney. Thereafter, the creosote hardens and falls off into the ash pile and burns up.
